On the offensive with the S series
Duisburg, 6 February 2018 – Clark Europe officially announces sales launch for the new S series. This series is a completely newly developed generation of internal combustion counterbalance trucks with capacities between 2 and 3.5 tons, designed for customers' requirements worldwide.
The S series impresses not only due to its established Clark pedigree, but also thanks to technologies which meet the requirements of the digital age. Clark has now ensured its place in the industrial truck manufacturer premier league. Clark first presented the S series to its sales team at its centenary celebration in September 2017, where it was very enthusiastically received. The Clark Team specialists’ will be presenting these vehicles to the public at Stand L02 in Hall 26 at CeMAT 2018 in Hanover.
Developed in close cooperation with centres of excellence in America, Asia, Australia and Europe, the new generation forklift was put through its paces in numerous field tests. Feedback from drivers and operators was incorporated into the development of the vehicles, enabling Clark to successfully fulfil requirements for each region concerned. The S series excels thanks to a new, modern design with a superior, ergonomic workstation, which offers optimum comfort to drivers. Not only have the design and key components been improved in line with customer requirements, but essential active safety systems and a new smart information system have also been included.
SMART, STRONG and SAFE
"Smart, Strong and Safe are the core characteristics of our new series and our pledge for future developments from Clark," affirms Mr Rolf Eiten, President and CEO of Clark Europe. "With the S series, operators will benefit from vehicles which excel thanks to their highly sturdy design and reliable, safe operation, even during heavy-duty use. They will also enjoy low operating and maintenance costs. Drivers can look forward to significantly greater comfort, which will ensure fatigue-free work throughout the entire shift. We have been able to significantly increase efficiency of forklift use as a result. Mr Eiten highlights the importance of the S series market launch for the European market: "Clark has surprised and continues to surprise the sector with innovative solutions and concepts. With the new S series, we not only ensure that our products meet state-of-the-art standards, but also offer our customers an exceptional price/performance ratio. Our design engineers have shown the way yet again with the S series."
Mr Andreas Krause, Technical Director at Clark Europe GmbH continues: "It all started on a white sheet of paper and the declared goal to use all our experience to develop a vehicle which noticeably improves work conditions for operators, while also optimally exceeding owners' requirements. We have managed to achieve this with the S series. During the test stages, many test drivers informed us that the S series forklifts were exactly the vehicles that they would ideally like to work with."
The S series consists of S20-S35 LPG and diesel forklifts with superelastic or pneumatic tyres with a capacity between 2 and 3.5 tons and S20C-S32C compact LPG forklifts with cushion tyres and capacities between 2 and 3.2 tons, eminently suited for use in confined spaces. The vehicles are powered by cost-effective industrial engines such as an MMC-PSI (2.3L) or Ford LPG engine (2.5L) with full EPA Tier 4 certification. Alternatively, there is the diesel version featuring an ISUZU diesel engine (2.2L) with turbocharger, which complies with the Stage IIIb emission standard. Highlights of the S series include a completely newly developed information system with a 5 inch smart display and virtually maintenance-free wet disc brakes. Added brake cooling is available in the heavy-duty version on request. Other components are the nested upright rail with a 6-roller fork carriage, a speed limiter, a load weight indicator and many other supplementary features which ensure safe load handling.
